PTFS Presents ArchivalWare to ERWG
North Bethesda- Dan Quinn presented PTFS’ semi-automated declassification application, ArchivalWare GS, along with metrics from the Air Force Declassification project to the External Referral Working Group (ERWG). Approximately 150 ERWG members attended the February 15th presentation at NARA in College Park, Maryland.
ERWG is a group of government representatives from agencies involved with declassification who regularly meet to collaborate about declassification initiatives. The purpose of the monthly ERWG meetings is for government and industry personnel to share information about current events in the declassification world. The group is particularly interested in new technology, processes and methods that can decrease cost, increase accuracy, or accomplish both objectives.
The Air Force project was highly successful based on Air Force compiled metrics. In the first phase of the Air Force project, Air Force personnel compared a semi-automated process to the traditional manual process for both productivity and accuracy. They determined the semi-automated process was approximately ten times faster and made no errors while the manual process had a small but significant number of errors. The key to success was PTFS’ ability to numerically rate the OCR accuracy and adjust the fuzziness of the dirty search for optimal results.
ArchivalWare DX is built on the ArchivalWare Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Platform and combines powerful search and retrieval tools with robust Business Process Management workflow. ArchivalWare DX provides analysts, reviewers, and supervisors the ability to auto-highlight sensitive information for analyst review/enhancement and finally redaction.
