PTFS and Government Printing Office Honored for App Development
North Bethesda, MD, October 2, 2012- The United State Government Printing Office was recently honored by the Center for Digital Government for developing a Fiscal Year 2013 Budget App. The PTFS Web team is leading the design and implementation for the GPO mobile initiative and played a major role in the development, testing, and production of the Budget App that grants users free access to the text and images of the FY 2013 Budget. On the first day of operation, the mobile 2013 Budget App had received 55,000 visits.
The app also links to the GPO’s FDsys, which currently holds summary tables and additional books of the budget. The Federal Digital System (FDsys) is the Government Printing Office’s advanced digital system for managing government publications and documents.
As a browser-based app, the app is accessible on major mobile platforms and Webkit-based browsers.
