Helping During the Holidays

Rockville, MD – December 21, 2020 – Progressive Technology Federal Systems (PTFS) and its employees raised money to help families during the holiday season. The funds were distributed to Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg, MD.

A matching funds campaign was set up where every dollar that an employee donated, PTFS would donate three. In total, more than $4,200 will be given to Manna, which will be used to provide food to those in need.

“We’re very fortunate that PTFS has been able to stay open and continue to provide service to our customers during this very difficult time,” said PTFS CEO John Yokley. “I felt it was important for us to give back a little bit, especially during the holidays,” he added.

“One of the things Manna had to do early on was adapt our supply chain. Much of our food had been coming from large grocers, who suddenly did not have the surplus food to donate. Due to community generosity, like that from PTFS, we’ve purchased much more food – over four times our usual amount – and that’s allowing us to provide the food we know our participants need,” said Elgin Martin, Development Associate at Manna.

Manna Food Center is a not-for-profit, community-based organization providing assistance to those in need in Montgomery County, Maryland.
