About Me
During the span of his 30+ year career, Mr. Ignacio has performed project management on dozens of large service contracts for the federal Government for digital conversion, digitization, and personnel operations with a focus on the creation of digital record files and metadata. With a proven track record of assisting customers through the digital conversion or digitization process moving from hard copy document collections to digital library collections, content management systems or the creation of archival digital repositories. These tasks involved the capture of metadata from hard copy and/or electronic sources to create deliverable electronic records such as FADGI compliant outputs, MARC, MARCXML and XML on behalf of organizations such as the Department of the Navy, Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), SPIE and CADRE (formerly CPIAC). These digital conversion and digitization projects have ranged anywhere from six months to five years, and involve technical, subject matter, digital tagging and indexing teams ranging from half a dozen members to 20-25 members, all devoted to their specific teams and tasks.
Extensive project management experience covering hardware, software, networking, staffing, training, workflow design, workflow development, assessment of materials for digital conversion and the creation of conversion production processes for both commercial and US Federal Government customers which include the DoD, IC and other Federal agencies.
Supported the development and testing of Knowvation an XML based COTS content management system as well as working with existing PTFS development infrastructure to test the next-generation library management system (Bibliovation)
