Customer Win: ABMC

PTFS Wins the ABMC Electronic Burial and Memorialization System Contract

We’re excited to announce Knowvation has been chosen for the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) Electronic Burial and Memorialization System! This milestone achievement is a testament to our commitment to excellence and ability to deliver exceptional services in line with the OMB/NARA Directive M-23-07: National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Transition to Electronic Records Directive.

The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), who is responsible for maintaining and honoring the memory of American military personnel who served and sacrificed overseas, has set forth stringent requirements for the digitization, metadata capture, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of various materials from its cemetery sites and collections. These include the Paris Overseas Office (OO), Sicily-Rome American Cemetery (SRAC), and Florence American Cemetery (FLAC). The project’s primary objectives are to ensure item-level digitization, comprehensive metadata capture, and Section 508 compliance for all digitized records.

“This win aligns perfectly with our mission to provide cutting-edge technological solutions in the government sector. PTFS is proud to partner with ABMC as they transition to electronic records, ensuring that the memory of American military personnel is preserved for generations to come. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of their work as they contribute to the ABMC’s mission to honor and remember those who have served their nation”, stated John Fanguy PTFS’ VP of Sales and Marketing.

Some key features Knowvation is providing for the ABMC project that will help ensure the success of this project:

  • Continuous Federated Indexing: Knowvation offers federated indexing capabilities across multiple clouds and on-premise data sources, allowing data to remain securely at its original source, which ensures data integrity and minimizes the risk of information loss.
  • Integrated Workflow Engine: Knowvation includes an integrated workflow engine designed to streamline and automate document and record workflows to enhance the overall project efficiency.
  • Easy API Integrations: Knowvation’s open architecture enables easy API integrations with existing technologies, providing a seamless experience for users and making it a powerful addition to any organization.
  • Video and Speech to Text Extraction: The software is equipped with video and speech-to-text extraction capabilities, enabling the transformation of multimedia content into searchable text, making it easier to manage and access critical information.
  • Smart Crawl Service: Knowvation’s smart crawl service links metadata between different repositories, facilitating the comprehensive organization and access of data. This enhances the system’s ability to manage vast amounts of information effectively.
  • Advanced Search Methods: Knowvation offers four search methods, including pattern (fuzzy logic), concept (natural language), boolean (standard search), and geospatial (non-spatial files from a map interface). This diverse set of search options ensures that users can find the information they need in the most efficient way possible.
  • Multi-Lingual Support: Knowvation incorporates AI recognition for multi-lingual text, audio, and video. This ensures that content in different languages is accurately processed, making it accessible to a broader audience.
  • Document Level Security: The software includes document-level security that supports the “need-to-know” principle down to individual digital objects. This robust security ensures that sensitive information is always protected.
  • Continuous Federated Indexing: “One Search Finds All” is the motto of Knowvation, and it lives up to this by offering continuous federated indexing. Users can access all relevant information quickly and easily.
  • Data Enhancement and Normalization: The software provides tools for data enhancement and normalization, ensuring that data remains consistent and valuable throughout the project.
  • Robust Data Ingestion Tools: Knowvation offers robust and user-friendly tools for ingesting data into a single repository. Users can read, write, and tag metadata during or after ingestion, making it a flexible and powerful asset for the ABMC’s requirements.

PTFS’s Knowvation software will be a game-changer for ABMC’s Next Generation Public facing Electronic Burial and Memorialization System.  Its powerful capabilities in federated indexing, workflow automation, data integration, geospatial, and more will significantly contribute to the success of this important initiative, ensuring that the memory of American military personnel is preserved and accessible for generations to come.
